This Sunday, Aug. 30, we will have a very special guest speaker. Be sure to get to church early and get your favorite seat!
There will be no worship meeting in September, so be sure to go get your hair cut that night so you will be ready to have your picture made on the 15th for the new Church Directory.
September will be a busy month with Labor Day, Grandparents Day, Council Meetings, Wed. night meals returning, and another try at a service under the shelter later in the month.
See you at church!
Cathy
Sunday, June 14th, we are planning to honor Flag Day by holding our 11:00 worship service outside at the shelter. Hopefully it will not be raining or too hot, so dress comfortably if it looks like a nice day and join us for a beautiful outdoor service.
Also, June 21st is Father’s Day. Calling all ladies!!!! Please check with the Worship team female members to see what you can do to help with our celebration. We would like to invite you to join us for lunch on the 21st to honor the Fathers after church in Fellowship Hall.
See you Sunday!
Thanks to everyone who helped make Memorial Day at HBUMC special! From the decorations, to the VFW poppies; from the special music, to the new flag pole, it was an amazing day. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the church family who helped with the outside memorial service. The letters from the soldiers were very meaningful and the readers did a wonderful job of presenting them. An added thanks to our trumpet player. Hearing TAPS played outside at the memorial site always has a way of helping us remember how much our soldiers have given for us.
Several requests have been made for the title of the book that the letters came from. It is and I will be glad to lend my copy to folks.
Remember this Sunday, May 31, to wear some red to help us celebrate Pentecost. Also, we will be honoring our graduates this Sunday….. AND our Vacation Bible School kicks off this Sunday night too!
Last, but not least, we will have a Consecration Service for our youth who are leaving for the Mt. Top Missions Thursday night at the VBS celebration evening. The youth will be leaving very early Sunday morning to travel to the mission site, so we decided to have the service Thursday night so that the whole church will be able to cover them with prayers as they leave on this very special service mission.
Almost Talented Talent Show 2007Hello folks! We’re going to give this site a try to see if I can get current information out to you about some of the worship happenings at HBUMC.
Sunday, May 24th will be our Memorial Day service. I’d like to invite you all to stay a few minutes after church and join us at the NEW flag pole at the Veteran’s Memorial for a short service. The flag pole will be dedicated and we will hear a few words from the brave men and women who have served our country so faithfully.
Sunday, May 31 will be a busy Sunday with a celebration of our Graduates, the introduction of VBS, and just a reminder that it is Pentecost. The worship team would like to encourage you all to wear something red in honor of Pentecost. And those of you who have graduates in your family, please let us know so we can celebrate their accomplishments.
I hope you will take a few moments to check in on our web site to keep up to date with the happenings at HBUMC! I will post worship highlights here on a regular basis, so check back often!
