Greetings from the Pastor

When we look for evidence of Christ among us, we find it!
Whether in the beauty of worship together or in working together to help transform our world, I regularly witness Christ in the people of Hickory Bend United Methodist Church! What a joy!
If you honor us with the gift of your presence at Worship at 11:00 on Sundays we trust that you will receive extravagant hospitality from us. Obviously Christ Jesus offers each of us hospitality that is intended to be given to one another!
Let me tell you about some of the transformation that HBUMC is about:
We feed children through FUEL, a weekend meal program offered through Hickman Elementary School.
We open our building for use by other groups from our community.
We help with Room in the Inn, a program for housing the homeless during the cold months in Nashville.
We offer gifts throughout the year that serve around the world through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) that fund projects for those who are victims of natural disasters and wars.
Come share the journey with us!
Grace and peace, +Melisa

Pastor Melisa Derseweh began serving HBUMC summer, 2017 while continuing to also serve Andrew Price Memorial UMC. These two great congregations partner together to transform our world in the name of Jesus!
Pastor Melisa is married to the Rev. John Vaughan, who serves Trinity UMC in Murfreesboro. They have adult children who live and work in Middle Tennessee. When not preaching, teaching or meeting-to-make-a-difference she loves to spend time at the Y, streaming great tv or catching up on new novels.
